SOUTH Cerney AC, who have gone from success to success over recent years, have come up with the goods again with the introduction of more fish in their Wick Water Fishery and Ham Pool situated near their very popular clubhouse.
On Sunday in the annual 15-a-side match against Ivy House Lakes AC their Wick Water Fishery went bananas with nearly 700lb of fish being taken. It was the visitors however who won the team event headed by Nick Cheeseman who took the day's top weight of 48-12-0 of mainly carp together with tench taken on the pole.
South Cerney took second and third spot through Steve Upton 45-5-0 and Mick Robins 43-8-0 with Larry Laing (Ivy House) taking fourth with 40-5-0. Team results South Cerney 331-7-0 total. Ivy House AC 359-13-0 total.
Saturday's Division Five National was contested by 26 teams of 12 anglers on the Shropshire Union Canal. Two of local teams competing put up some good performances with Devizes AA coming third, being beat by Team Sensas Image who were second and team Mozzella who were eventual winners.
Turners Tackle and Bait were Twelve Team and in the individual stakes Devizes AC anglers Kev Rowles was eighth and Rob Kepner 12th.

Saturday Open: 1, Ryan Shipp (13) 30-8-0; 2, Keith Smith (24) 28-1-0; 3, Martin Anstee (20) 23-8-0; 4, Ian Didcote (19) 20-6-0.
There was another win for Graham Rose in the Wednesday Club match at Bourton on the Water where he used a pole, fishing up in the water with pellet and catmeat to take a cracking 106lb of carp. Mick Robins was second 9lb taken mainly on floating bread and third was Dale Sole 76lb pole/pellet.
Skimmers showed well in the Haydon St AC match at Buscot small lake. Sid Webb easily winning with 11-5-0 ahead of Barry Jenkins 6-6-0. Brian Holness 5-12-0 (tench) and Mark Jones was fourth with 4-6-0.
Sunday's match at Raychem Lagoon was always going to be hard with fish spawning in full swing but Cliff Brown came out on top with 7lb of skimmers. Second was Mel Mullen 3-10-0 and third Fred Brown 3-2-0.

Friday evening matches at Ivy House start this week. 4pm draw.
