Despite the criticism levelled at local businesses regarding poor support for Chippenham Folk Festival, I would like to congratulate Chris and Mick at The Old Road Inn, hopefully on behalf of anyone who visited the pub over the weekend.
Not only did they provide a convivial atmosphere throughout the pub for all the visiting session players, they also booked two excellent bands to play on the Saturday and Monday nights in The Garage. Both of these very enjoyable gigs were free to anyone who wished to see them.
The beer was to Mick's usual high standard, was not at inflated festival prices and, as a bonus, was served in real glasses all weekend.
Long may they continue to support the folk festival.
