Wootton Bassett Methodists are planning to spread the message, 'Jesus loves You!' to remember the work of evangelist John Wesley, whose tercentenary is this year.
A programme of events will start on Wednesday, June 11, when the Methodist Church will be open from 10am until 4pm. Lunches will be served in the Hillside Hall between noon and 2pm. At 8pm there will be prayers for the town to mark the 300th birth of Wesley.
On Thursday, June 12, the format will be repeated, but the evening service with an emphasis on healing will start at 7.30pm.
On June 13, the United Reformed Church at Wood Street will be open to visitors, for prayer and meditation, 10am to 4pm. There will be lunches at the Hillside Hall, and the Methodist Church will welcome musicians from the Salvation Army for an evening concert at 7.30pm. Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection.
On June 14, the Methodist Church will be open 10am to noon, and there will be street events including music and face painting at Borough Fields. An afternoon of sports and games at Poets Field, 2pm to 4pm will be open to everyone, and there will be a launch of 300 balloons. A Youth Praise evening at the Methodist Church will start at 7.30pm.
The finale of the Mission programme will be at the Memorial Hall at 10am on 15 June. All welcome.
