WESTBURY lost by five wickets when they entertained Nailsea in a league match for the first time in two years.
After three weeks Westbury at last played a league game after a spell of terrible rainy weather.
Westbury won the toss and decided to bat first.
They opened with Dolman and Adam Pothecary and they were immediately on the back foot when Pothecary was dismissed for seven.
This brought Alex Hart to the wicket and he immediately started to play his shots.
While he was at the wicket Westbury had the chance of a large total but when the score was 80, Hart was dismissed for a classy 48, dismissed by a sensational catch at square leg.
When he was out the mantle of scoring was taken up by John Dilena and when he was out for 41, the total was 165 all out, with Harrington, 4-28, and Hardcastle, 4-25, doing the damage.
The Westbury total was at least 50 runs short of a suitable score.
When Nailsea batted they lost an early wicket, then there was a very good partnership between Devanny (49) and Mark Hopkinson (22) who took the total from 11 to 72.
The Westbury bowlers fought back with four wickets for 38 runs. Then the Nailsea captain Simon Hopkinson and young Tom Moss took the total from 110 to 169 without any undue alarm.
Ian Pothecary was the star bowler for Westbury with figures of four for 33 off 12 overs.
