AN action group is planning to support projects to boost Melksham over the next year.
After a successful year Melksham First is hoping to fund a range of projects, including conferences and viability studies about additional sports pitches, town centre development and the restoration of the Wilts and Berks Canal.
Chairman Adrienne Westbrook said: "It takes time for ideas and projects to come to fruition, so support for our groups is very important.
"I know it is difficult to be patient when we want to see changes, but we are making a very big difference. We are all working together to make Melksham a better place to live and work."
At a meeting on Monday, the action group revealed some of its success stories from the past 12 months. Projects it helped fund included a youth caf and skate park, Forest Community Centre, the French market, CCTV and a credit union.
Cllr Westbrook said: "Once again it has been a very busy year for all of us in the group. I would like to thank everyone involved in the partnership."
