A RECENT heatwave has led to west Wiltshire experiencing its hottest May temperatures for 40 years.
Weather records show May 31's sunshine brought with it a top temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest May day since 1963.
Rainfall was just below the average for May with 48.7mm recorded. The average, in Trowbridge, is 56.7mm.
