SUPERMARINE forwards coach Andy Sear has welcomed the inclusion of the club's second string in the Powergen League system this season.
The South Marston club, whose senior side will play in Dorset & Wilts One this season, have had their reserve side accepted into Dorset & Wilts Two North.
Minety have also had their second string included, while the additions of Wootton Bassett 3rd and Devizes 3rd has also been agreed for the same division.
And Sear believes that can only be good news for the future development of clubs such as his own.
"From our point of view it's great news,'' said Sear, whose first team saw off Bridport in a promotion play-off last season.
"The second team are going to play in the division the firsts have just come out of, and that is going to strengthen the club.
"We have a lot of young lads coming through from our junior sections and they will now get the chance to play league rugby.
"It also means that some of the also-rans like myself can still play competitively!''
Sear added: "From a coaching point of view, we've been waiting for some sort of league rugby for the seconds.
"Hopefully, it will mean we get more of them training and playing to a standard like the first team.''
