EVEN without a full team the Poplars pub cricket team managed to trounce the village team on Sunday in the annual Wingfield challenge.
The Poplars team is rare in being one of the few sides left in the country who are not only a pub team, but play at their own pub ground.
Wingfield were all out for 83 on Sunday, which was no match for the Poplars 165.
Richard Hudd played for the Poplars on Sunday, and faced brother Nigel on the opposition.
Richard said: "Wingfield put out 13 players, and we only had nine, but we play more often so I think that was how we managed to beat them. We get fed very well by the pub and I think everyone was very keen to get back to the bar at the end of the match."
