STAFF and students at a Trowbridge school have double the reason to celebrate after winning two awards.
The achievements of GCSE pupils at The Clarendon School have been recognised with a School Achievement Award from the Government.
Headteacher Colin Kay said: "I am really delighted. It is a just recognition of the hard work done by the staff and students.
"It is testimony to the real partnership we have at Clarendon and our commitment to strive for continuous improvement."
Since 1999 the number of pupils gaining five passes at grades A to C has increased by 10 per cent.
The school has also been given an Artsmark award, recognising its commitment to providing opportunities across all art forms, from music to dance.
It is one of 298 schools across the UK to be given a silver award from the Arts Council of England. A further 274 schools were given a gold award.
Head of drama Alison Warren said: "I am delighted the Arts Council has recognised the school's progressive, well-balanced arts education programme."
