Rush hour traffic was brought to a standstill on Wednesday when a lorry was grounded on the canal bridge at Semington on the A350.
The K.J. Services low-loader was transporting earth moving equipment from South Wales to a quarry in Westbury when it was stuck in its tracks on Wednesday evening.
Police re-routed cars around the bridge, but HGVs were made to queue while the lorry was moved as there was no alternative route for them to take.
