YOUNGSTERS in Lechlade have been going back in time to celebrate their school's 150th anniversary.
Pupils at St Lawrence's School dressed up in Victorian clothes and created historical displays during a week of celebrations.
The primary school, which has 220 pupils, started life at its present Wharf Road location in 1823.
Youngsters recreated the feel of the times by creating a painting of the school in the style of Victorian artist LS Lowry.
They also put together a display featuring paintings of historical figures such as Dr Livingstone and Queen Victoria.
One of the highlights of the week was a Victorian magic lantern show, with authentic equipment.
Every morning, the pupils have been called to classes by a traditional Victorian school bell, which has been re-hung as part of the celebration.
Headteacher, Alison Lock, said: "The children have learned such a lot because it has all been hands on. They've really enjoyed it."
Pupils were presented with a commemorative mug at a special birthday party.
