TV soap stars and personalities are taking the leading roles in Goldilocks and The Three Bears the Swindon panto this year.

Liam Dolan from Disney's Diggin' It on GMTV will star as Billy The Circus Kid with Ross Davidson, alias Mr Morgan from Hollyoaks, as the Ringmaster, at the Wyvern Theatre.

Goldilocks is Vicky Binns, the sassy Ollie Reynolds from ITV's Emmerdale, and Dame Tilly is Roger Royale from BBC Radio 2 Half Hour.

Nicki Western, marketing manager at the theatre, said: "We have some fabulous names in this year's show and people to appeal to all ages.''

Also making a welcome return to the Wyvern stage are the clowns Tweedy and Alexis. The clowns were in Aladdin as Ping and Pong.

"It's great to have our old friends Tweedy and Alexis back. They will of course fit in to the circus theme a treat,'' said Nicki.

The panto is again under the guiding hand of Charles Vance and this year will have the added twist of being a circus spectacular.

This will be the eighth production from Charles following on from the success of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Dick Whittington, Babes in the Wood, Snow White and Aladdin.

Nicki said: "This year's pantomime promises to be the biggest and most spectacular pantomime the theatre has seen. Goldilocks hasn't been performed here for many years.''

Liam, 26, was born in Glasgow and is a well known face on GMTV every Saturday morning.

Ross was one of the regulars on BBC1's EastEnders in 1985 playing the part of Nurse O'Brien.

Vicky was born in 1981 in Lancashire and has been in Emmerdale since 1999. Her first TV role was as Tash in Child-ren's Ward for ITV.

Roger is a regular contributor to Pause For Thought on Wake Up Wogan for Radio 2.

The story of Goldilocks moving in on the three bears' porridge is well known, but the panto gives more background to the story.

Goldilocks is the daughter of circus owner, the Dame.

Her circus is in need of a new animal act so, with the help of the good fairy disguised as a bareback horse rider, Goldilocks sets off to find the three bears.

A rival circus, run by the wicked Jasper Black, is jealous of the sensational new act and attempts to kidnap the bears. All mayhem is let loose in true panto style.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears runs from December 12 to January 10.

Tickets are priced from £10 to £14.
