DIY CHAIN B&Q could be coming to the Barnfield recycling site.
And household recycling could be moving from there to Cheney Manor.
The decision on whether to move the recycling centre will be made on Tuesday, when the council's planning committee meets at the Civic Offices in Euclid Street.
As revealed in the Evening Advertiser in April, the council wants to build a £6 million depot and recycling centre on a large site formerly used by Trespaphan UK on the Cheney Manor Industrial Estate.
Meanwhile, B&Q has exclusively revealed to the Evening Advertiser that it wants to build one of its stores at the Barnfield site, which will become vacant if the council secures its new recycling centre.
Company spokeswoman Alison Yaldren said: "We have made a planning application for a B&Q store at Barnfield.
"The application will come before Swindon Council's planning committee in July."
