HIGHWORTH Canoe Club is to re-enact an historical wool run from Lechlade to Oxford.
This route was used for the transporting of wool from the Cotswold meadows to London in medieval times.
This sponsored Wool Run, a distance of 31 miles, will be held over the 48 hours from Saturday, June 28, to Sunday, June 29, to raise funds to support the club's lake relocation.
The club recently held an exhibition in the Podium in Highworth, to show off the new equipment they have bought after receiving a £4,900 Lottery grant.
This includes ten canoes, helmets and paddles.
