Adventurer David Hempleman-Adams is still waiting for the right weather conditions to set off on his solo balloon crossing of the Atlantic.
He hopes to break the solo distance record for a Roziere balloon, which has a wicker basket and flew to Pittsburgh on Monday. Flight director Dr David Owen will be guiding David from the control centre based in Bristol.
He said: "The wind winds were too strong to inflate the balloon. We decided to take our time, which was a much safer thing to do because the winds were stronger than predicted. David is very upbeat. He is obviously rearing to go but he is quite happy waiting for the right conditions. We are looking for another window for the weather and we can't do anything until Tuesday."
