ODD job man and charity fundraiser, Pat Broderick is working hard to raise a small fortune for charity.
Mr Broderick, 37, who is a familiar face to the people of Upper Stratton, is working hard to prepare for his challenge and has already managed to raise £3,386 for when he takes part in the 10-mile long Tony Long Wheelchair marathon and sponsored walk on Sunday, June 29.
The event is a 10-mile sponsored walk beginning in Kempsford and taking in the villages of Dunfield and Castle Eaton.
It has been organised by the Rotary Club of North Wiltshire over the past 20 years.
This year, money from the event will go to the Wiltshire Community Foundation, the TADSA housing association and local Rotarian charities.
Pat is no stranger to the world of fundraising. In July 2002 he raised £1,600 after participating in the race achieving a time of one hour 58 minutes.
Two months later in September 2002, he raised around £1,000 for the Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool on Milton Road as part of the pool's 23rd anniversary of opening.
That money was used to help fund the pool's £80,000 a year running costs.
Mr Broderick said: "I have been doing this race for 16 years and I really want to break last year's record when I came second.
"All my friends and family have been really helpful in sponsoring me, and I welcome anyone who wishes to sponsor me."
