A gutsy 150 from Matt Windows failed to stop Northamptonshire recording their first Frizzell County Championship victory of the season by an innings and 54 runs at Gloucester on Saturday.
Starting the final day on 66-1, Gloucestershire slumped to 147-6 before a partnership of 175 between Windows and Jack Russell (63) threatened to frustrate the visitors.
When the pair departed in quick succession, Jason Brown finished with 4-106 as the home side were dismissed for 338.
Northants took 22 points, while Gloucestershire, who began the match as joint Second Division leaders, had to settle for just two.
