AS a single mother of two I managed to find part-time employment but had to leave this because my low part-time earnings and working family tax credit was too high for me to qualify for housing benefit.
The money combined was just enough for me and my two children to live on but Swindon Borough Council refused to help me by giving me even half price rent as I couldn't afford the full £54.75p a week.
I was willing to pay half but they refused me so as a result I have had to quit my job and go back on the social.
