I have recently spent seven days in our GWH having undergone a double half-knee replacement operation. This is the first time in my 60 years that I have undergone major surgery.
I was somewhat saddened to read in a recent copy of the Evening Advertiser about the increase in the number of complaints about our hospital, particularly mentioning the Trauma and Orthopaedic wards.
I would be grateful if you could print this letter because I want to publicly acclaim and congratulate the staff in Falcon Ward, and particularly the brilliant surgical team lead by Mr Deo. These people represent the very best that the NHS has to offer, well focused, highly professional and caring.
I was not in pain throughout my stay, and have been impressed by the aftercare in my own home, I am making excellent progress toward a complete recovery.
