THE Swindon and District Men's Bowls Association continued their 2003 campaign with an impressive 119-103 victory over the English Fire Service on Saturday at Swindon Bowls Club.
The host rink of Mike Williams, Cliff Dennis, Bob Hiles, and skip Don Clarke were in excellent form, winning by 15 shots, but President Mike Large, who had Chris Payne as skip, dropped five on the last end to draw on their rink.
The victory will hopefully stand the association in good stead when they meet the Swindon and District Ladies at Highworth on Sunday and try to regain the Dave Tapliss Trophy, won by the ladies last year.
