CHILDREN at Broad Hinton Primary School are celebrating a hat-trick of new facilities thanks to their fundraising efforts.
An extended classroom, a jubilee garden and a special pathway leading to the village hall have been officially opened, much to the delight of staff and pupils.
Head teacher Jo Pitchforth said: "These exciting developments are an example of what can be achieved when the community works together. We are absolutely delighted."
The Friends of Broad Hinton raised £15,000 in less than a year towards the classroom extension.
Bob Wolfson, Wiltshire's chief education officer, attended the opening.
And Nathan Heal, nine, from Broad Hinton, is thrilled with the extra space.
He said: "It is great because we will have more room to sit on the carpet for stories."
The path will enable pupils to walk in safety to the village hall, where they have school dinners and PE lessons.
And the Jubilee Garden, which was designed with the help of the local White Horse Gardening Club, will be used as an outdoor classroom. Miss Pitchforth added: "Every class has its own flowerbed. We plan to introduce seating and a weather station. It is a lovely asset for the school."
