Ian Harvey's heroics booked Gloucestershire a Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy semi-final place now he hopes his teammates can arrange him an August date at Lord's.

Australian all-rounder Harvey claimed five wickets for 23 runs with his medium-pace variations and executed the stunning run-out of Ian Bell to undermine Warwickshire at Edgbaston and claim the man-of-the-match award.

The five-wicket victory set up a last-four encounter with Derbyshire at Bristol on either August 7 or 9 but the World Cup winner may miss out due to international commitments as Australia host Bangladesh in a one-day series in the first week of the month.

The 31-year-old, who was 12th man for the World Cup final win over India in March, has missed semis before, however, and returned for the Lord's showpieces during 1999 and 2000 when they won five one-day titles.

"That is probably the biggest positive thing about the squad, we have got cover," said Harvey, who flew in from Australia's tour of the West Indies last week.

"In previous seasons I haven't played in semi-finals but someone else has always stepped up and helped get us to Lord's."
