Sulhamstead 178-6 beat
Nomansland 152
(Hampshire Division One North)
IF EVER a catch won a match, Jamie Seward's was the one.
Nomansland's Lee Palmer looked like taking the visitors home until Seward took off on the boundary and made as fine a catch as one could wish to see to end the innings.
Earlier Nomansland had won the toss and asked their hosts to take first knock on a soft wicket that proved to have variable bounce.
Godfrey, 52, took early control, assisted by Gibson, 24, Seward, 28, and Mughal, 34, as the home team took advantage of some lacklustre bowling and fielding as a huge score looked in the offing.
Kev Hayward, 2-45, and debutant Pete Loader, 2-39, slowed things up, but a useful score at tea was still posted.
Nomansland's reply started steadily until Darren Grayer went for 11 with the score on 31. Simon Smith exited first ball to bring Palmer to the crease with Hayward. This pair looked in little trouble until Hayward was given lbw for 38.
Palmer assumed control as wickets fell at the other end, but he and his side's hopes perished when he was caught in the deep for 55 by the flying Seward.
Tommy Lawrence battled away for ten but the visitors perished 26 runs short.
