WOULD-BE weathermen and women will be thundering a path to Bristol this weekend, in a bid to join the BBC.
One hundred hopefuls from across the West will attempt to follow in the footsteps of Bill Giles and Michael Fish at the BBC Talent auditions at BBC Bristol on Saturday.
Hundreds of applicants have applied for the audition and the chance to win one of two six-month contracts for new weather presenters for English Regional Television News.
A panel of four judges, including BBC Points West presenter Chris Vacher, will watch as the hopefuls are given just two minutes to show off their knowledge of warm fronts, highs, lows and pressure belts.
The two successful candidates picked at the audition will then go forward to the finals in London.
