RAIN may have stopped play at Calne's very first Teddy's Carnival Picnic on Sunday, but it hasn't dampened people's enthusiasm and another event is planned on Saturday.
The Green had been transformed ready for the picnic, with a fire engine, silver band, stalls, bouncy castle and storyteller.
But at 2.30pm when the event was due to open, there was heavy rain which continued for over an hour.
Organisors were left with no choice but to abandon the event.
The carnival committee is now hoping to make up for the disappointment on Saturday by inviting any child who brings their teddy to the carnival fete at the Wharf, to join in the fun in a secret garden.
Children will play games, listen to the storyteller and even have the chance to win their teddy a new friend.
Mark Wilkins, town council community development officer said: "The carnival princesses will open the garden at 3.30pm and all children bringing a teddy will be allowed in to share the fun."
He thanked all the people and organisations who had supported the Teddy picnic, and promised it would be held again next year.
