THAI-BORN Jacky Carter pasted the opposition at a curry competition held at the Lansdowne Arms at Derry Hill.
Her Penang curry was judged the best out of the ten contenders put forward in the annual culinary contest, held last week.
Mrs Carter, 47, of Meadow Close, Yatton Keynell, said: "I am very pleased to have won. It is my mother's recipe and I always looked to her to teach me how to cook."
Ingredients include a fresh curry paste made with lemon grass, shallots, cumin and Thai chillies.
Other currys from the ten entrants included Masaman chicken, a red curry and chicken Madras all prepared before hand and brought in for the delectation of the four judges.
The competition was tight, said landlady Karin Chester.
She said: "They were all very good. It took the judges 50 minutes to decide and the standard was really high. There were a real variety of tastes.
"Jacky's recipe was a good balance of flavours and all freshly made."
Mrs Carter won a bottle of wine and a meal for two at the Lansdown and her dish will be a feature of the pub's menu for the next year.
Recipes can also be bought from the pub at £1 with profits going to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
