PUPILS at St Joseph's RC Primary School in Devizes put their running shoes on last Saturday to raise money for the school's parent staff association.
They set out on a 400-metre circuit around the school grounds. Reception and year one children did one circuit while older pupils managed two.
Pippa Thomas, the association's chairman, said: "They all did extremely well. We won't know exactly how much we raised until all the sponsorship money comes in but we are hoping for more than £500."
The Mayor of Devizes, Coun Paula Winchcombe, presented the medals to those that completed the course.
Among the items on the association's want list is a trim trail, climbing apparatus set out around a field on which the children can release some of their excess energy.
The association's next event is the summer fair on June 27 and a family barbecue, the last event on the school calendar, on July 18.
