FANS of brass bands will be able to go to the Proms on June 21 by heading for the village of Aldbourne.
The award winning Aldbourne Band will be presenting a Proms Night at the Old Manor House.
The gates will open at 7pm and the concert will start at 7.30pm.
The first half will be a contemporary selection of popular themes from shows, films, ballads and original brass works including some from the band's recently released CD.
The second half will include pieces from opera, ballet and the classics with a rousing finale in true Proms style with pieces like the Enigma Variations, Pomp and Circumstance and Fantasia on British Sea Songs.
Tickets, which include supper, cost £9.50 and are available from the Aldbourne Post Office or from Alan Watson on (01672) 540580.
In party in the park style those attending are invited to bring their own seats or rugs and Union Jacks.
