I READ with dismay and disbelief, that the breathtakingly beautiful village of Slaughterford is once again being threatened by developers.
Countryside Properties has applied and failed on six planning applications to build houses in this conservation area.
The area is also internationally recognised as having a unique bio-diversity.
One has to visit the village to understand that to develop there, is unthinkable.
It is hard to imagine why the North Wiltshire District Council's planning and development committee has not submitted these planning applications for permanent deletion, even though Countryside Properties owns the land.
Surely North Wiltshire District Council can reclaim the land.
Can they not earmark this crucially important piece of Wiltshire for protection in perpetuity ?
