WOOTTON Bassett travel to Dumbleton tomorrow in need of a victory to kick start their season and lift them off the foot of Glos/Wilts Division One.

With injuries and unavailabilities hitting the club hard, Joe Lukens and Graham King are promoted from the second string with second team vice-captain Chris Sugden also retaining his place.

Skipper Steve Twine, Luke Leach, Clive Chattell and Nick Yalden will be required to score the bulk of the runs and, with an inexperienced bowling line up, heavy responsibility will lie on Stu Smith's shoulders after his five-wicket haul last week.

For the second week running, Steve Hale fills in as captain of the seconds as they face a difficult fixture at home to Dumbleton.

Barry Thurtell steps up from the third team, spinner Paul Harris returns from university and former GWR all-rounder Mark Shepherd makes his club debut.

Australian import Brett Sydney-Smith will be looking for his first big league score of the season, after making a start in all his innings thus far, while Paul Baden is injured and Matt Baker will look to rediscover his form in the second team.

Blaine Norridge's second string will be hopeful of adding to three successive victories in the reverse fixture at Trowbridge.

Baker's experience will be needed in a youthful batting line-up, with Mark Williamson included following exams.

Henkel and Willis will spearhead the bowling attack, with Parkinson likely to be used for his leg-spin.

Cliff Iles takes over the captaincy of the third team in the absence of Phil Laggett, as they make the short trip to Blunsdon.

The side will be looking to end a poor run of form, and should be confident as they field a strong side.

Seamer Neil Couling returns to open the bowling with Matt Barrett, while Spencer and Tribbick will be eager for runs as they look to force their way back into the second string.

Kevin Thompson's in-form fourth team host Blunsdon 2nd, with Eddie Grant in fine form with both bat and ball.

Steve Cole will be confident of wickets, as he has performed well at a higher level this season.
