A NEW directory is being put together for the people of Westbury that means they can now recycle everything from aerosols to zips.
The Rethink Rubbish Directory is designed for the town and its surrounding villages and will list companies and individuals prepared to take a range of items for recycling.
Managing the Rethink Rubbish project, Angie Darey said: "West Country landfill sites have about five years of space left in them, so we must start recycling our rubbish or we will have a disaster on our hands."
Valerie King from Westbury agreed to be in the directory. She knits bonnets for third world countries out of old bits of wool.
Her details will be included in the directory and people with wool for recycling can help a good cause.
The directory is still being compiled, and Miss Darey said: "We also want entries from businesses, charities or individuals, who think there may be some sort of rubbish they can take.
"This sort of project takes time and effort and we are still looking for help to put the directory together."
Schools in and around Westbury have been given the challenge of designing a cover for the Rethink Rubbish Directory, and entries will be judged by Westbury Mayor, Horace Prickett.
The Wildlife Trust is also planning to put all the information online.
