WESTBURY suffered a disappointing defeat in their first ever league match at Hambrook.
On a damp pitch the bowlers performed well, but Westbury were let down by their batsmen.
Westbury made three changes after last week's defeat against Nailsea, with Neil Dolman, James Dark and Richie Coleman coming in for Andy Elliott, Christian Knott and Dave Callaway.
Westbury won the toss and decided to field first. They opened the bowling with Andy Elliott and Stuart Lewis.
Hambrook were immediately on the back foot when Andy Carroll and Stuart Lewis reduced them to 25 for five in the first half hour.
As the wicket eased the Hambrook batsmen, led by Fincken, Kislingbury and Edwards, took the total to 138 all out. Andy Carroll had the outstanding bowling figures of seven for 18 off 10 overs.
Westbury set off in pursuit of 139 runs to win, but they had a poor start. Adam Pothecary was dismissed with the total at 14 and then there was a partnership of 27 between Martin Dolman and Alex Hart.
For the second week running Hart was dismissed by a stunning catch. The best hope of a Westbury victory went and they subsided to 111 all out.
