JANETTE Collins risk manager at Swindon Council has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award in recognition of her work towards risk management.
It is the second year running that Janette has been identifying possible pitfalls and dangers for day-to-day operations in Euclid Street and this year she finds herself among candidates up for the highest accolade the coveted risk manager of the year award.
The honours are organised by ALARM the national forum for risk management in the public sector with the winners to be announced at a lavish awards ceremony in Manchester later this month.
Risk management is all about spotting risks associated with any organisation concerned with service delivery and implementing systems, procedures and practices to combat those risks.
ALARM chairman, David Fleetwood, said: "Once again Janette has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the field of risk management reflected in the way the discipline has gradually moved up the corporate agenda in her authority."
