Name:Edward Preece, 37
Employer: Whitmarsh Preece Lockhart
So what do you actually do?
Similar to an estate agent other than instead of finding buyers for houses I am involved in finding buyers or tenants for commercial buildings such as offices and shops. This can be a 500 sq ft office suite in Old Town or 100,000 sq ft headquarters on the edge of Swindon.
What do you hate most about your job ?
The admin, and when the lifts break down at Level 9 of Brunel Tower (our offices).
Do you think your colleagues like you?
The closer to pay day the more they like me.
What's the best bit of advice you have ever been given?
Close the sunroof when it rains.
What's the best bit of gossip you have ever heard about yourself?
That my hairline has stopped receding.
What job did you want to do when you were young and why?
Policeman because it meant at 16 I could leave Cornwall to live in London and not take A Levels.
If you could have a dream job what would it be?
Lifeguard at Bondi Beach.
Hobbies?
Having a go at most sports, usually badly, but it's fun trying. More recently dusting off my motorbike licence I've reached that time of life!
Greatest influence?
I am fortunate in having a job which is based on relationships, whether with my fellow partners, work colleagues or in particular with clients. These are a continual (and usually positive) influence on my work.
