PENSIONERS claiming tax and housing benefits are getting help under the new pension tax credit scheme.
From June 16 anyone over 60 receiving housing or council tax benefits from West Wiltshire District Council will no longer have their claims reviewed.
Many pensioners might have been posted review forms but these are no longer valid and the district council is advising pensioners to ignore them.
Revenues manager Shirley Sanchez said: "If anyone over
60 has received a form they do not need to complete or return it, as the review process will be picked up by the new arrangements."
The Pension Tax Credits will formally start in October.
Anyone concerned about the new arrangements can contact Trowbridge District Council for advice on (01225) 770395.
