MAY I, though the Wiltshire Times' readers' column, express my surprise and disgust at the behaviour of a particular car driver.

I am a keen jogger, not just for health reasons but to view interesting areas of Trowbridge and Westbury. Last weekend my enjoyment was ruined by a particularly vindictive car driver who purposefully and deliberately drove into a large flooded area whilst I was jogging at the roadside. I was absolutely sodden as a result and had to return home immediately.

At this point many readers of your column would be assuming that the driver was a youngster. But unfortunately I have to report that the driver was a middle-aged man in a people-carrier-type car who obviously took great delight in drenching me.

What a sad state of affairs it is when people have to resort to this type of amusement. The car driver was aware of my presence and realised what he had done but he offered no assistance nor apology.

Hopefully somewhere there is a car driver who feels some remorse.
