THE funeral of well-known Trowbridge businessman Philip Harris was held last week.
Mr Harris, who was 89, died on May 30 in Trowbridge hospital. He had lived all his life in Trowbridge.
He ran PF Harris and Son Radio and Television, which started in 1937, and remained involved in the business until last year. The business, in Castle Street, is now run by his son Adrian.
His work was a lifelong passion which he would often bring home. His wife Margaret said: "His life was devoted to his work and he worked until about 12 months ago. He was always doing electrical repairs in the kitchen, he really loved it.
"He was known as a real gentleman, I've been told that by all the hospital staff, the doctors and everyone."
Mr Harris was president of Trowbridge Camera Club when he died, and was also a member of the old Embers Association, which raised money for local charities. His funeral was held at West Wiltshire Crematorium, Semington, on Thursday.
