THE biggest ever annual Holt Music Festival hit the right note on Saturday with dancing, music, food and drink.

Over 800 revellers helped raise £4,000 for Holt village hall and enjoyed a range of music at the same time.

Throughout the day revellers got the chance to visit the stalls and watch a puppet and magic show by John Alderslade.

Six bands played live and colourful entertainment was provided by Holt Morris and Friends, Hips and Haws, The Footnotes and The Hobos.

Organiser, Christine Tucker, said: "We had more people than ever turn up and as a result broke all fundraising records.

"All the bands were fantastic but the highlight was that everyone had a wonderful time."

Bands playing in the morning at the eighth annual rock festival included Bath based rock groups Kinell and Thingamajig. In the afternoon reggae and blues band BlackBud hit the stage.

The Huckleberries kicked off the evening with tracks included on the soundtrack of BBC television programme Down to Earth.

Finishing off the event were energetic rock-folk band Five Furious Fish, asked back by the organisers due to popular demand following a set two years ago.

The event was organised by the Holt village hall trustees and the money raised is to be spent on redecorating inside the main hall.
