PUPILS and staff at Larkrise Special School in Trowbridge has something to celebrate after being given a School Achieve-ment Award by the Govern-ment.
Larkrise is a school dedicated to children, aged three to 19, with special educational needs and works closely with parents.
Headteacher, Carol Good-win said: "Pupils and staff have worked very hard to raise standards in the school.
The School Achieve-ment Award celebrates their efforts and recognises substantial improvements in results.
"I am thrilled for us all".
Last June, an Ofsted report praised staff for the quality of teaching and leadership and numbers at the school are continuing to grow with the register now standing at 66.
Mrs Goodwin said: "Pupils are positive about their school and work hard.
"They are well supported by committed staff and a governing body who are dedicated to the school and are determined the pupils should have the best education available."
Because of its special school status Larkrise does not enter national league tables for SATS and other exams, so the school is welcoming this award from the Department of Education and Skills at Westminster as a chance to get recognition for its achievements.
