POLICE have charged a 20-year-old Swindon man with grievous bodily harm after an attack, which left a 20-year-old man fighting for his life.
Michael Knight was due to appear before Swindon Magistrates this morning in connection with the incident which took place in the Parade, on Thursday at around 9.30pm.
The victim of the alleged assault was transferred from Great Western Hospital to a specialist neurological unit in Oxford when his condition deteriorated.
His condition has since become stable.
On Saturday morning scenes of crime officers cordoned off the Parade from Etam to Tesco to gather evidence.
The area did not reopen until 3pm.
