CATERING company boss Catriona Wrey escaped a driving ban after she was caught speeding.
Wrey, 35, of Compton Bassett, pleaded guilty by post to driving at 89mph on the A4 at Yatesbury, which has a 60 mph limit.
She appeared at Kennet Magistrates Court in Devizes last Thursday to offer special reasons why she should not be banned from driving.
The court heard before this latest offence she had six penalty points on her driving licence as a result of two speeding offences.
Wrey told the court that she needed her licence to drive her three children to school and for her work in running a catering company and to take her father out in order to give her mother who cares for him, a break.
Wrey said of the speeding offence: "I drive on that road every single day. I was driving to pick up my son from rugger practice and my speed crept up. It was a clear day and it was an open stretch of road.
"It was much too fast and I am very aware of that now. I do really need my licence."
The magistrates put five penalty points on her licence, fined her £155 and ordered her to pay £35 prosecution costs.
