MALMESBURY'S Suffolk Arms Freedom fighters have vowed to fight Lord Suffolk's appeal to be allowed to build houses on the site of his Suffolk Arms pub.
The freedom fighters group is made up of regulars who used the pub before it was closed in January.
They won a campaign to have the original planning application to change the pub into a house and build a further ten houses thrown out.
North Wiltshire District Council planners unanimously decided against the proposals in February.
Last week Lord Suffolk submitted an appeal against the ruling.
Freedom fighter Mark Jenner said: "We shall be going along to make our case once again. I have heard rumours that he may be changing his application or it may be re-opened as a pub again."
Planners rejected the scheme because they said it would mean the loss of a local amenity and 52 letters of objection said Lord Suffolk could have done more to keep the pub open.
Lord Suffolk's Charlton Park Estate refused to comment.
