JUNIOR CRICKET: Under 11s - OPENER Tom Dally top scored with 18 for Malmesbury in their home match against Corsham but he had little support and Malmesbury could only reach 49 for eight in their 20 overs.
For Corsham Wilson took three for four.
In reply, openers William Wales (30 not out) and Sam Wood (13 not out) batted very sensibly to see Corsham through to a 10 wicket win in just 11 overs.
In the local derby at Calne, Chippenham Arrows posted a formidable 121 for four in their 20 overs, thanks to Steven Bullen (47), Robbie Jones (19) and Ashley Shipton (13 not out). Stewart Windsor took two for seven in his four overs for Calne.
Thomas Chase (27) and Craig Edwards (34 not out) then batted well for Calne as they secured a draw by finishing on 94 for eight. Robbie Jones and James Bull were the pick of the Arrows' bowlers both taking two for 18 in their four overs.
At Cannings, the home side scored 92 for six in 20 overs against Chippenham Blades, with Sam Williams scoring a fine 31. Mathew Harding bowled superbly for the Blades, taking three for six in his four overs. In reply, the Blades mustered 75 for seven to secure a losing draw; a total that included 59 extras. Tom Schneider took two for eight for Cannings.
Under 13s - MEHDI Ibrahim had an outstanding match as Cannings beat Erlestoke by 112 runs.
Opening the batting Ibrahim scored 74 to take Cannings to 187 for nine in 35 overs. Stuart Greener (3-13) and Toby Dorgan (2-22) were the best of the Erlestoke bowlers.
Ibrahim then produced a devastating spell of bowling as he took six for 12 in seven overs. Only Dorgan (27) offered any resistance as Erlestloke were bowled out for 75 to leave Cannings winners by 112 runs.
Under 15s - CHIPPENHAM and Wootton Bassett played out an exciting and high scoring draw.
Chippenham amassed 238 all out in 42.4 overs. Will Couzens played a captain's innings of 70 off 42 balls and he was ably supported by James Humphrey (40), Matthew Whitehead (26) and Daniel Jeary (25).
For Wootton Bassett, Robert Gianotti bowled well to take four for 53. Wootton Bassett replied strongly through Lee Giles (74) and Adam Ward (54). Just when they were on top an excellent catch off his own bowling by Scott Mackie dismissed the dangerous Giles. Some steady bowling by Tom Huws (3-22) and Michael Roberts (2-36) supported by good fielding pegged back Wootton Bassett who ended at 203 for nine in a tense finish.
At Westbury, visitors Biddestone batted first and were bowled out in 30 overs for 115, with Christopher Lawton top scoring with 37.
Accurate bowling from Lawton (2-9 in 8 overs) and James Taylor (2-20 in 9 overs) ensured that Westbury had to work hard for their runs, but they reached their target in 44 overs with three wickets to spare.
James Selby (53), Paul Williamson (26), David Russell (23) and Charles Moss (20) enabled Cannings to reach 175 all out in 41 overs against Purton.
Daniel Atkin (3-19), Scott Dickinson (3-35) and S. Campbell (3-39) were the pick of the Purton bowlers.
In reply, Purton struggled against the bowling of Paul Pitman, who took four wickets for two runs in eight overs. Adam Croutear also took two wickets as Purton were dismissed for 81 to leave Cannings winners by 94 runs.
