TWO Wootton Bassett sixth form students, Charlotte Mercer and Kayleigh Stan-ley, both 17, are raising funds towards a two-week conservation trip which will benefit a children's charity.
The girls, who plan to make the trip in July and August next year, heard about The Oz Experience from a representative of the Joshua Foundation who visited the school.
The charity, which organises once in a lifetime treats and holidays for terminally ill children, gains funding from volunteers involved in the conservation scheme.
"Each of us has to raise £2,250 of which £1,000 will go directly to the Joshua Foundation," said Charlotte.
"So as well as having an adventurous holiday and working on a conservation project, we'll be helping them."
Charlotte and Kayleigh will visit a children's hospital in Melbourne before working on a conservation project in the Grampians or on Philip Island.
