CHILDREN at Ogbourne St George village school had a royal visitor for their Victorian fun day.
Queen Victoria herself, alias Swindon actress Mary Ratcliffe, turned up at the event organised by the Friends of Ogbourne School, which raised £1,850 towards a new outdoor play area for the school's foundation children.
Also at the event was Marlborough town crier Alfie Johnson, in his ceremonial costume.
Children took part in traditional Victorian sports and in a Music Hall production.
Firefighters from Marlborough were also present with a modern engine that the children and young visitors were able to inspect closely.
Headteacher Judith Evans said: "This was a magnificent result for a school with only 64 children."
