CROOKWOOD Lake was bustling with activity on Saturday as 16 juniors anglers competed in the Gazette Cup.
The three-hour match got under way at 9.45am and all the anglers fished well, with plenty of small fish showing on all pegs.
Devizes' Archie Webster showed good skills to weigh in a mixed bag of carp, goldfish, rudd, roach and perch to win the match with 9lb 11oz.
He was using a three-metre whip and fishing red maggot over ground bait, catching close in near the margins.
Aaron Rowles, also of Devizes Angling Association, took second place with a 9lb. He used a pole and fished with maggot over ground bait close to the margins. Third place was Devizes' Jamie Rowles who weighed in with 7lb 14oz of fish.
