WILLIAMS VERDICT: MURDERER Randle Williams told a London lapdancer his wife committed suicide as he toasted her memory with expensive champagne, a source has revealed.

Williams struck-up a relationship with a college student who he met working part-time in one of the capital's seedy lapdance clubs.

The student, in her 20s, frantically contacted police when details of Williams' murder trial appeared in the national press.

Our source said Williams lavished the exotic dancer with luxury gifts including champagne but when the relationship was failing he became aggressive sending her vicious texts and e-mails.

The source said: "Randle used to make champagne toasts to his wife which was bizarre. He became quite manipulative towards the lapdancer and changed as the relationship was coming to an end becoming nasty towards her

"He was sending her unpleasant texts and e-mails.

"She was quite frightened of him and it caused her a lot of distress. Other family members of hers had to warn him off."

The dancer likened Williams to a Walter Mitty style character and claimed his wife had aborted several of their babies.

Friends contacted the dancer about Williams' trial while she was away on holiday and she immediately contacted the police. Her evidence came too late to be included in the case.

Senior officers Det Insp Graham Hatswell and Det Sgt Andy Cross confirmed they had been contacted by the lapdancer.

Police officers examined the background of Williams thoroughly in the run-up to the trial and officers confirmed they had contacted his previous girlfriend.

DI Hatswell said: "We, as an investigation team, have done a full background check on Randle Williams looking at his lifestyle and girlfriends and we can reveal he has had three to four long-term girlfriends and the same type of manipulative, obsessive, controlling nature and personality was evident with these girlfriends.

"If one of the girls was perhaps wearing something which he considered too revealing then he would make them go and change.

"There were other occasions he would follow them.

"It was almost like a stalking nature.

"Clearly that background behaviour was there long before he met Natalie."
