TEDDIES were the guests of honour at a picnic at Westwood Nursery last week.
Pupils and ex-pupils from the nursery sat down to tea and scones in the sunshine to celebrate the end of term and raise funds.
The 34 pupils all worked hard to prepare food for the event, and had baked and iced 100 teddy-bear biscuits. Nursery teacher Marina Bishop said: "This was a real community effort and the children worked as hard as the grown-ups to organise it, we're really proud of them."
Everyone brought their own teddy bears along, and there was an oldest bear competition, raffle and games.
The children made bear ears to wear and all had their faces painted.
Mrs Bishop said: "The guest appearance from Mummy Bear just rounded off the teddy bear theme nicely."
