THE Waterways Trust is holding a golf day at Wrag Barn Golf Club in Highworth in September to raise funds for the restoration of the historic Cotswold Canals.
The Trust, which works to restore and conserve Britain's canals and rivers, is opening the golf day to anyone, and particularly businesses, who is interested in getting involved in its work.
Sam Wightman, corporate and project manager for the Waterways Trust, said: "With this event we are raising money for a very important local cause. Our recent feasibility report conducted with British Waterways anticipates that the restoration of the canals will bring at least 1.8 million extra visitors to the area each year."
Anyone wishing to take part in the event on September 2 should call 0151 373 4387.
Tickets call £75 per person or £300 per team including refreshments golf and dinner.
