CHIPPENHAM boss Tommy Saunders unleashed former Swindon Town defender Gareth Hall as his side drew 0-0 in a pre-season friendly with Football League new boys Yeovil Town last night.
Hall will stay with the Bluebirds throughout the summer campaign before Saunders decides whether to make it a permanent move.
And he helped shut out the triallist-dominated Glovers on a rock-hard Hardenhuish Park pitch in front of a bumper crowd of 740.
Yeovil featured Portuguese aces Hugo Rodrigues and midfielder Franklin de Freitas among their starting line-up, but made little headway against the Dr Martens Premier Division battlers.
And Chippenham almost stole victory when a Charlie Griffin effort struck the bar in the second half.
The ex-Swindon man also had a couple of other efforts stopped by Yeovil stopper Steve Collis.
Saunders said: "It was a very good game. There were a few chances and we nearly nicked it.''
On Hall, he admitted: "He is just with us for a few games and we are having a look at him.''
